Our rural home would also be a Quiet, home-like space for a responsible person/people working temporarily in the area. The main/master bedroom has a Queen-sized bed, while the 1 remaining rooms is furnished with a full-sized bed (s), comfortable for sleeping 4/5 people.  Living room is furnished with new couch and loveseat and 42 " flat screen TV. Our house is only 8 miles from Town of Wedowee (East on Hwy 48) and 8 miles from Lineville (West Hwy 48) which both offers a few restaurants, grocery stores and friendly people. Roanoke is only 15 miles and has Wal-Mart and new Hospital to open in the Fall of 2017. This property is approximately a twenty minute vehicle ride from Cheaha State Park and 35 minutes from the Talladega Superspeedway. Our beautiful vacation home is located north of the town of Wedowee near the Swagg community on the big Tallapoosa River of Lake Wedowee. It is located at the end of a 2 mile gravel road. I sometimes drive my mustang in here but I am more comfortable in my suv. We have four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. We are still new but have just completed our tenth rental in our first 4 months. It is a little confusing to find the place and we will get you there with great directions if you decide to stay. The house is fully stocked and includes 2 kitchens, 2 family rooms, 3 covered porches, laundry closet with washer and dryer, lake gazebo but no boat, you can bring your own or use the kayaks we have down at the dock. This is very private with only one neighbor. Enjoy the scenery, paddle up river about 10 minutes and view the eagles nests in trees standing in the water. There are 2 additional blow up mattresses if you have more than 10. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to town to the grocery store. Well behaved pets are welcome. The dogs usually love to hang outside anyway. There is so much for them to do. The house is three levels. Main floor includes master bedroom and bath with access to porch, family room, half bath, laundry closet, eat-in kitchen, back porch with dining, daybed for naps, wicker seating area and front porch. Upper level includes 2 bedrooms for seven and a large bath with double sinks. Lower level includes bedroom with queen and daybed, large bathroom with shower only, family room, additional kitchen and access to large covered porch.

Outback Cove, where we are located is at the north end of the lake and is a very quiet, low boat traffic, great place for skiing, paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming and floating. ? The two story dock has year round deep water. Additional Information: ? The town of Wedowee is a 15 minute drive. There are two grocery stores, a liquor store, gas stations and a few antique stores! ?Bobbers Restaurant and Family Dollar are a10 min drive. ? Lake Wedowee, technically “RL Harris Reservoir” was created in the 80’s by Alabama Power. The lake is 10,000 acres, 24 miles long and has 27 miles of shoreline. It was formed from a deep river channel of the Tallapoosa River. The water is very deep, and very clear- boasting some of the cleanest water with great fishing. (Fishing licence can be purchased online from the Alabama Dept of Conservation & Natural Resources) ? Alabama Power lowers the water level about 8’ starting in early October until late April. It does affect the appearance of the shoreline but we have year round water. Our dock remains floating, but the access ramp is a little steep. Lakelife in the winter is quite special...incredibly quiet and peaceful!

Our home is located on the Big Tallapoosa River, not far from hwy. 48 bridge. We have over 250 feet of water front in a quiet cove. Our private boat dock has lounge chairs, an umbrella upstairs, a boat slip, and a sitting area down below. The neighborhood BOAT LAUNCH is RIGHT across the street! The main level of our home is a large area with dining table and chairs as well as a bar height counter with stools. Another section is devoted to watching the flat screen TV while resting on the leather sofa and other comfortable chairs. The kitchen is also on this level with high end stainless appliances. We have almost everything you could need in a kitchen: mixer, cookie sheets, slow cooker. There is a full bathroom on this level with tile floors and granite counter tops. This main level consists of 3 walls of windows and hickory hardwood floors. There are French doors leading from this level onto the covered deck facing the lake. There are chairs for shaded sitting while watching the fishing, skiing and swimming going on. Downstairs are two bedrooms and a full bath. The master bedroom is quite large with a laundry room and walk in closet. There is a king size bed, large leather recliner and a flat screen TV as well as a wardrobe for clothing. This room has windows facing the lake and French doors leading to a patio. The second bedroom has a full bed and a set of twin beds. Pros and cons to being on the deepest part of the lake.....we get to enjoy year-round water, but we do have to walk a little bit to get down to it! Please note that while our cabin has an indoor fireplace, it is decorative only (not operable for safety reasons). This home is a great place to escape for a relaxing getaway and enjoy the many amenities of the lake. The house is fun for all ages with a lot of activities including: hot tub, pool table, games, two canoes, fire pit and its own private dock for fishing and relaxing. There is enough bed space for 12, but if guests wish to bring an air mattress, the house could accommodate up to 14. Contact owner for details about this prior to booking. Our house will not accommodate groups larger than 14. The dock is equipped with Dock Lifeguard to detect if there is any electrical current in nearby waters. Our lake home includes WiFi and satellite television. The kitchen is fully equipped with kitchen supplies needed during your stay. The house is 3 stories with 4 bedrooms: Upper level suite has a king bed, sitting area, and private bathroom. There is a Sun Room with a perfect view of the lake on the top level of the house as well. The main level bedroom includes a king bed with an additional bathroom. The main floor also has an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area with a screened-in porch and large patio table for additional entertaining. - all with views of the lake. The bottom floor has two bedrooms: 1 bedroom with a queen bed and another bedroom with two bunk beds (queens on the bottom bunk) and a shared full bath on the bottom floor. There is a large gathering room on this level with a pool table and large TV area, also with lake views. The home includes a 55" flat screen television on the bottom floor and a 42" TV on the middle level. Also included is a gas grill located in the lower level fire-pit patio area. Some wood for fire-pit use is stacked here for guest use. Although we currently have 2 canoes available, guests may tie up their own boat in the available slip at our dock during their stay if they notify us in advance. One canoe and one “John Boat” (similar to a canoe) are included for you to paddle around on the beautiful water. Dock is attached for you to swim around and sunbathe. Beach towels are included for your stay. You are welcome to bring your own boat or pontoon and tie up to our dock. You’ll have access to the private community boat ramp. We are retired restaurant owners so the house has pictures of some of our menu items which we took out of our old business. They brighten up the home and will probably make you hungry! ?? We leave our Christmas tree up all year long because hey, every day is like Christmas morning at the lake (also great for weekends around the holidays!). The main floor of the house has a large open room with high ceilings. The kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances is fully equipped for your stay. Everything you need to whip up a great meal is there. Large gas grill is just outside on the porch. A breakfast room that’s perfect for breakfast or playing cards and boardgame while you look out over the lake. Across from the kitchen is a full bathroom. The dining room seats 10+. A sofa and flatscreen TV are also in this large area. Around the corner you will find the spacious master bedroom with a king bed and private bathroom with a shower and bathtub. Large flat screen TV in the master as well. The guest bedroom on the main floor is a full-sized bed and very cozy. A large laundry room with two washers and three dryers is downstairs. The downstairs den has a large flatscreen and big, comfy couches. You’ll also find a second kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher and sink here as well. Around the corner are two guest bedrooms and a full bath… one guestroom has two full-sized beds and the other has two queen beds. Go upstairs to the third level and you’ll find four more bedrooms and a full bath. The first room has a full-sized bed. The second has two queen beds, the third is a giant room with three king-sized mattresses and one full-sized mattress, a large flatscreen TV and a sink. You can access the fourth bedroom through the giant room. The fourth smaller bedroom has two twin beds inside. An extra twin mattress is available if needed. Our cove is residential and has several year-round residents. We ask our guests to respect the peace and quiet our residents enjoy. Loud outdoor parties are not appropriate. The nearest marina is about 30 minutes away on the water… just past the 48 bridge. They have gas pumps open seven days during the summer months. 6 days in the fall and winter. A pontoon boat is available for rent from the marina. But just one. And they require it be returned daily. Restaurants in town as well, however admittedly scarce. Nearby from two grocery stores in the town of Wedowee (~15 minutes), Roanoke (~30 minutes) and Anniston (~60 minutes). About Lake Wedowee— Lake Wedowee, technically “RL Harris Reservoir” was created in the 80’s by Alabama Power. It’s 10,000 acres (1/4 the size of Lake Lanier north of Atlanta or Lake Martin near Montgomery) and was formed from a deep river channel of the Tallapoosa River. The water is very deep, and very clear. At our south end of the lake, hundred foot depths are the norm. Alabama Power lowers the water level about 8’ staring in early October until late April. It does affect the appearance of the shoreline somewhat. Our dock does remains floating. The lake in the winter is special. Incredibly quiet and peaceful. We welcome you to our slice of paradise!

Lake Wedowee is renowned for it’s fabulously clean water, the result of being created from a deep river channel through rocky terrain. There is no orange staining typical of many southern lakes. The house faces northeast, and even in hot weather the deck and dock are in the shade most the day, offering cool and pleasant afternoons and evenings, while getting good early and midday sun if you want to tan. Captain Cook's is your home away from home on Lake Wedowee. This home is the kind of place where we love to go, and we hope you like it as well. It is a fully furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bath jewel located on a wooded lot directly on the lake with year round deep water. The house is a family friendly single story with bedrooms on opposite sides of the house, affording privacy between the master and the other bedrooms. It is stocked with books, CDs DVDs, toys, games as well as a portable crib, and children's table and chairs. The walk to the lake is short (64' from house) and easy with a wooden boardwalk all the way to the private covered pier and large covered floating dock. There is even a private boat ramp on the property for launching your boat as well. Enjoy evenings lakeside by the firepit or swinging on the porch. At Captain Cook's you will find all the towels linens, dishes, cookware and utensils you will need. We have gone the extra mile to make sure the kitchen is fully equipped. Hairdryers, iron and ironing board are also provided as well as for your use. Satellite TV is also provided. There is a gas grill for cooking the fish you catch each day. A ping pong table is available for the competitive types as well as a basketball hoop toss and corn hole set up. Enjoy the use of 2 single kayaks, 2 stand up paddle boards as well as a tandem kayak. Lakeside Marina and restaurant are a short boat ride up the lake. The large master bedroom has a king bed with a Tempurpedic mattress, flat screen TV, DVD player and private porch. Enjoy views of the lake from both the windows or from a rocker on the porch. A queen bed with deluxe memory foam mattress topper is in another large bedroom as well as a set of built in bunks. This bedroom has a private entrance from the front porch, flat screen TV and DVD player. 2 comfortable full beds are in other guest room and a rollaway bed is also provided for use. The living room includes a large screen LCD TV with satellite service. There is plenty of space for reading or relaxing in the cozy living room or on the large porch facing the lake. You can swing, rock or just sit and enjoy the view. The porch on the other side of the house is a great place to sit, rock, have a cup of coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet. There is much to offer from our beautiful lake home! A very important attribute is the homes proximity to the waterline. Going back and forth to the dock at a lake place on Wedowee can be tiring when it involves sets of mile high stairs but you can avoid that here. It's a huge bonus that the house was built with that in mind. The patios are wonderful for entertaining and there is an outdoor kitchen with a new grill. It has the best views and is located on great deep water convenient to the marina directly across from it and our own neighborhood boat launch. It also is in a nice location by car to the grocery store, fast food, Mexican restaurant, Lakeside Grill, and shops of Downtown Wedowee less than 10 minutes away. The home was built by my husband and has just now been completely finished so many parts of it are brand new. It has 4 queen beds and a fold out futon in the living area if needed. Fully equipped kitchen with new fridge, all necessary dishes, Wolfgang puck stainless steel cookware and extras such as a crock pot, popcorn popper, hand mixer, blender, wine opener etc. It should have everything you need and more. Nice to have at a lake house for coolers, drinks and such is the built in 50 pound ice maker in the bar area. We have a paddle boat that you're welcome to use. There are life jackets, floats, folding beach chairs, etc for your use as well. Washer and dryer available and all bath towels and sheets are provided. We fell in love with this lot because it has year-round deep water, but it's at the end of a cove where you can swim all day and not worry about boats going by. Our rental prices are higher during these months however our cabin is very relaxing and enjoyable even during the months without water while you enjoy our stone fireplace and tranquil setting of our home on the lake. Lake Wedowee Paradise is our newest addition of our properties, and we would love to share our home away from home with you! The best part of our paradise is the private pool overlooking Lake Wedowee with a private dock! Our home away from home is privately nestled in the country overlooking a beautiful gunite salt water pool and beautiful quiet cove on Lake Wedowee at the north end of the lake. It features an uncovered dock for swimming, fishing and boating. There is an outdoor pool shower and plenty of pool floats and lounge chairs. A few steps above you will find a nice spacious covered deck with a ceiling fan and outdoor dining set that overlooks the pool and lake, it is wonderful for enjoying the scenery while eating, drinking or simply relaxing. From the deck you enter your private retreat of over 1750 sq. ft. our spacious and beautiful home on the lower level which is the closest to the pool, lake and an outdoor kitchen with bar with a gas grill, electric smoker, and refrigerator. The home has a large open split floor plan with the kitchen, dining and living room that overlooks the pool and lake, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs, including a Keurig and a regular coffee pot, along with a large high top dining table/bar with seating for your whole family. The living room has a cozy rustic lake style gas fireplace and comfortable reclining sofas for relaxing and watching the large 55" tv with cable and dvd player, there is also a chest full of dvds, games and books for everyone. The master suite is located separately on one side of the split floor plan and has a comfy queen bed and large 50" tv with cable and dvd player, it adjoins the beautiful large master bathroom with double vanities and extra large shower. The other bedrooms and bathroom are located on the other side of the split floor plan with a Jack and Jill bedrooms and bathroom set up, one bedroom has a comfy queen bed and the other has 2 twin beds along with kids toys and a small tv with dvd player, the beautiful bathroom has a large shower and single vanity. We provide free wifi for our guests. There is private designated parking in driveway for guests a few steps away from your entrance. Enitachopco creek is renowned for red eye bass fishing. You can also try your luck with large-mouth bass and various varieties of bream. Our creeks are easily accessible, scenic and fun for all. If fishing isn’t your thing, sit soak and let the fresh running water cool you down. Our tent is set up with a queen size bed for your comfort.
